Teflon
Teflon (PTFE) has extremely high chemical resistance, a wide range of operating temperatures ( – 200ºC /+300ºC ), a very low friction coefficient (up to 0.08), can be used to create a ”stick-slip” effect (jerking) and has good insulating properties. It is very resistant to hot water and is unmeltable.
- responsive to gamma radiation
- excellent electrical insulation
- very good resistance to UV-radiation
- the softness of the material is a disadvantage
Areas of use:
- sealing
- slip plates
- ledges
- segments
